KRAMER HAS MELTDOWN
Michael Richards exploded in anger as he performed at a famous L.A. comedy club last Friday, hurling racial epithets that left the crowd gasping at the ugly incident.
Richards, who played the wacky Cosmo Kramer on the hit TV show “Seinfeld,” appeared onstage at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood. Kyle Doss, an African-American says he and some friends were in the cheap seats and he was playfully heckling Richards when suddenly, the comedian lost it.
The camera started rolling just as Richards began his attack, screaming at one of the men, “Fifty years ago we’d have you upside down with a f***ing fork up your ass.”
Richards continued, “You can talk, you can talk, you’re brave now motherf**ker. Throw his ass out. He’s a nigger! He’s a nigger! He’s a nigger! A nigger, look, there’s a nigger!”
The crowd is visibly and audibly confused and upset. Richards responds by saying, “They’re going to arrest me for calling a black man a nigger.”
One of the men who was the object of Richard’s tirade was outraged, shouting back “That’s un-f***ing called for, ain’t necessary.”
After the three-minute tirade, it appears the majority of the audience members got up and left in disgust.
Attempts to reach Richards’ reps were unsuccessful. Last night Kramer appeared with Jerry Sienfeld on The David Letterman Show, where he made a difficult attempt to apologize for the outburst. His final thought was saying he’s not a racist.
It only took 30 seconds to trash a lifetime of a career.
TIMBALAND SET TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM
Super producer Timbaland is working on a new album, Timbaland Presents Shock Value, which will feature some of his high-powered friends. The producer told MTV.com, “I’m not just hip-hop. My mission is to take over top-40 radio — what they call popular music, different genres of music — and reach all types of people.”
The album will feature guest appearances by Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, She Wants Revenge, the Hives, Fall Out Boys, Björk, and Elton John.
The first single from the project is “Give It To Me” featuring Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado. The song is already causing quite a buzz as Timberlake, Furtado, and Timbaland send some subliminal jabs at the peers without naming names.
On the song, Timberlake sings, “I saw you tryin’ to act cute on TV, ‘Just let me clear the air’/ We missed you on the charts last week/ Damn, that’s right, you wasn’t there/ Now if sexy never left, then why is everybody on my s**t?/ Don’t hate on me just because you didn’t come up with it.”
Timberlake insists the line wasn’t a jab at Janet Jackson and the infamous Super Bowl incident.
Timbaland’s album is scheduled to hit stores in March.
MOS DEF POSTPONES COURT APPEARANCE
Rapper and actor Mos Def postponed a court appearance on Wednesday, November 15th, due to a scheduling conflict. Allhiphop.com reports that he was due in court in relation to his August arrest outside of the year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
The rapper, whose real name is Dante Smith, pulled up in front of Radio City Music Hall in New York City on a flatbed truck and performed a song called “Katrina Clap,” dedicated to Hurricane Katrina survivors. The song was critical of President Bush and the government.
The rapper was arrested and issued a summons for operating a sound-reproduction device without a permit. The entire incident was captured on film.
Mos Def is due back in court next week.
JIM JONES AND THE DIPLOMATS TO RELEASE CHRISTMAS ALBUM
Jim Jones and the Diplomats have a special holiday treat for their fans. Allhiphop.com reports that Jones and the Diplomats will release A Dipset X-Mas on December 5th. The album will feature the “We Fly High (Remix)” featuring Diddy, T.I., Young Dro, and Baby. The specially-priced album will also include “Have A Happy Christmas,” “Wish List, “”Ballin’ On Xmas,” and “If Everyday Was Xmas.”
In related news, Jones’ latest album, Hustler’s P.O.M.E., debuted at Number Six on the Billboard 200 album charts after selling more than 108,000 copies its first week in stores. Initial reports listed the album as only selling 96,000 copies but the reversal of a Soundscan error pushed the album’s first week total well over 100,000 copies.
NAS SIGNS TRE WILLIAMS TO ILL WILL RECORDS
R&B singer Tre Williams is the latest signee to Nas’ Ill Will Records. Williams is featured on the Kanye West-produced song “Let There Be Light,” from Nas’ forthcoming album, Hip Hop is Dead….The N, which is due out on December 19th.
Williams has also recorded with Petey Pablo, J-Hood, Styles P, and Papoose in the past. No release date has been set for the R&B singer’s project.
Ill Will Records roster also includes the Bravehearts and Nayshawn
BOOT CAMP CLIK’S SEAN PRICE TO RELEASE ‘JESUS PRICE SUPERSTAR’
Boot Camp Clik and Heltah Skeltah member Sean Price will release his sophomore solo album, Jesus Price Superstar, early next year. SOHH.com reports that the album will feature guest appearances by Buckshot, Tek-N-Steele, Rock, Sadat X and Phonte of Little Brother with production by 9th Wonder, Khrysis, Illmind, MoSS, PF Cuttin, Tommy Tee and Large Professor.
Price, who will be heading to Italy later this month for three tour dates, has also reunited with his Heltah Skeltah partner Rock. The duo released two albums — 1996’s Nocturnal and 1998’s Magnum Force — before going on an unofficial hiatus.
Price explained the two are hard at work on a new album now. He said: “Oh nah, ain’t no rumors. Real talk, we’re in the studio right now. We got about six songs done. We’re in there. We’re in there working on it right now.”
The rapper added: “It’s still Boot Camp. It’s still MFC, you know what I mean? Ain’t nothing change man. We just brought everything back home. We never had a problem with the label, you know what I mean? So whatever we had to fix up between men, we got that done. And it’s about to pop off, real talk.”
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE KEEPS ‘MY LOVE’ ON TOP
Justin Timberlake’s hit “My Love,” featuring T.I., holds the Number One spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for the third consecutive week. The track also leads the Pop 100 for the same span. Timberlake teamed up with producer Timbaland for the song and said that it was a collaborative effort: “When I first heard the beat, it didn’t have the extra percussion. It just had the kick and the snare. And inlaid underneath that was that sort of electronica keyboard that was very percussive. And so my immediate reaction to that was to write a ballad — to sort of go left of that and sort of space out the verses and give it a sense of spacing. We just rolled from there.”
“My Love” appears on Timberlake’s sophomore album, FutureSex/LoveSounds.
Timberlake is featured in People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” issue.
He kicks off a tour in early 2007.
Timberlake and his girlfriend Cameron Diaz have reportedly bought a beachfront estate in Hawaii. According to TMZ.com, they paid about $16.9 million for the Oahu pad, which features 1.5 acres of land and 100 feet of beach. The place also has 12 bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

WHITNEY HOUSTON PROPERTY HEADED FOR AUCTION BLOCK?
Whitney Houston could lose part of her expansive 10-acre New Jersey estate in Mendham if she doesn’t pay up. The Grammy-winning singer may have to auction off a parcel of the property on January 4th unless she comes up with $1 million in back mortgage payments and property taxes. According to The Morris County Daily Record, the tract up for grabs is said to be worth $889,300– far less than the adjacent property the newly single Houston owns that has been valued at upwards of $5.6 million. Houston must decide to pay off the debts on the property before the January 4th date or see it put on the block by the Morris County Sheriff’s office.
A representative for Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, the service agent acting on behalf of Houston’s lender, says it’s unlikely that the singer’s house will end up in a sheriff’s sale.
According to the Daily Record, Houston borrowed $975,000 from Chevy Chase Bank, which sued Houston for back payments on June 12th.
More recently, on October 27th, a judge ordered Houston to pay more than $189,000 to another bank on a $200,000 second mortgage she took out on the estate.
The Bodyguard star also apparently owes Mendham Township about $83,000 in property taxes, as well. The most recent payment was due November 1st.
Houston, who also has a home in Georgia, last month filed for divorce from Bobby Brown, her husband of 14 years.
CHAKA KHAN TRACK INCLUDED ON NEW HOLIDAY COMPILATION
Eight-time Grammy winner Chaka Khan performs a version of the Christmas classic “Do You Hear What I Hear?” on a new holiday compilation being released by the New York-based Breaking Records label. Breaking For The Holidays, available on Tuesday, November 21st, features all-new recordings by 10 artists from various genres.
Chaka’s performance is the centerpiece of an album that also features holiday music performed by comic actress Sandra Bernhard; Canadian vocalist Karine Hannah; RockStar SuperNova finalist Jill Gioia; Miz Metro; The Demolition String Band; and Eve Nelson, who also produced Khan’s track.
Also featured on the set are two former American Idol contestants: Vonzell Solomon from Season Four and Jon Peter Lewis from Season Three.
Khan’s most recent album release was 2004’s ClassiKhan. Now signed to Burgundy Records, Khan is working on an album of original material that harkens back in style to her rock-funk roots with the group Rufus.

SNOOP DOGG BRINGS ‘HOOD OF HORRORS’ TO LIFE
Rapper Snoop Dogg throws his hat into the horror ring this weekend with the release of his latest effort, Snoop Dogg’s Hood Of Horrors. The film is divided into three separate vignettes and features animated sequences and plenty of blood. In the first mini-film, a woman vows to kill off as many gang bangers as possible after they murder her mother. The second installment sees four Army veterans viciously strike back at the cruel son of their dead benefactor. The final story features a crooked rapper and a dead D.J.
Snoop Dogg introduces the three stories, and said that the project is just another extension of himself: “Well, you know, it was brought to my attention and ended up trying to bring it to life in a real way ’cause I thought it was interesting too when they brought it to me. And then we added the animation and making my character a little bit more slick and sly, and trying to have the musical element to it as well. So it is what it is and hopefully people will enjoy it. It’s just another piece of Snoop Dogg.”
Snoop Dogg’s Hood Of Horror is running as part of the “8 Films To Die For” festival playing at select theaters across the county this weekend.
JAMIE FOXX RECOVERING FROM THYROID SURGERY
Ray crooner Jamie Foxx is almost 100 percent recovered from a recent surgery. The Oscar winner had a gland removed from his neck after a regular check-up turned up an improperly functioning thyroid.
Doctors advised Foxx to have surgery because the parathyroid gland could affect the nervous and muscular systems in the body. His reps say the operation left the actor’s singing voice intact and that he’ll be healthy enough to participate in next week’s American Music Awards.
Foxx recently completed work on the drama The Kingdom, and he has a major role in the upcoming musical extravaganza, Dreamgirls. On the music side of his career, Foxx is currently on the Game’s new album, The Doctor’s Advocate. He also teamed up with Mary J. Blige on the CD portion of her DVD/CD set, Mary J. Blige And Friends.

I think Jerry’s was a failed attempt at trying to save Kramer’s career. I hope the story is a wake-up call to everyone.
