USHER READY TO WHUP SOME A** OVER FIANCEE JOKES

Usher is reportedly calling around to prominent radio jocks and requesting that they stop making fun of his fiancée, Tameka Foster, and her rumored feud with his mother, Jonetta Patton, reports the New York Daily News.
Once word got out that Usher fired his mom as his manager - on Mother’s Day to boot - folks began speculating that Foster had masterminded the whole thing. Syndicated radio host Tom Joyner says Usher recently called him off-air and threatened to “whup my a**” for poking fun at the situation, says Daily News columnists Rush & Malloy.
Apparently, Usher was particularly upset when gossip writer Jawn Murray said to Joyner during a broadcast: “I wonder if he’s going to put a pink slip in her Mother’s Day card?”

West just released the first single and video from the project, titled “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.” The song was produced by West and DJ Toomp, with Hype Williams lending his directorial expertise to the visuals. West recently released a 25-song mixtape which was also titled, Can’t Tell Me Nothing.
FAT JOE MAY HAVE WITNESSED DOUBLE MURDER

Law enforcement authorities in Miami are interested in talking to Fat Joe, as the rapper may have witnessed a double murder early Monday (May 28th) morning. The Miami Herald reports that Fat Joe, whose real name is Jose Cartagena, could have been hanging out with Lessli Paz and Joey Navarro when the two men were gunned down by Jermaine “Wufgang” Chamberline.
According to police, Paz, Navarro, and some other men were seated in a parked black Cadillac Escalade outside David’s Cafe II around 6 a.m. when three men began fighting in front of the restaurant.
According to the arrest report, ”As the two groups began punching and kicking each other, (Jermaine ”Wufgang” Chamberline) reached into his right front pocket and pulled out a 9mm handgun.” He allegedly fired four shots, killing Paz and Navarro.
Police believe Fat Joe may have been sitting in the SUV with the victims at the time of the shooting, or in the vicinity.
Chamberline was arrested near the scene of the crime and he later confessed. He was charged with two counts of second-degree murder and one count of carrying a concealed weapon by a convicted felon.
USDA MAKES TOP FIVE CHART DEBUT
Young Jeezy, Blood Raw, and Slick Pulla are collectively known as USDA and the group’s debut project, Cold Summer, made an impressive debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week. The set sold over 95,000 copies its first week in stores to land at Number Four on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The group project is Young Jeezy’s fourth album in three years. He released an album as a member of Boyz N Da Hood as well as two solo projects, Thug Motivation and The Inspiration.
The rapper broke down his two solo offerings and explained what we could expect from his next solo album. Young Jeezy said: “Like when I did Thug Motivation, you know what I’m sayin’, I did Thug Motivation for everybody that’s out partying in the streets. Doing what they do and you know but at the same time, you know, it was still another side. And people got to understand, there’s always two sides to a story.” The rapper added: “And The Inspiration was more to me about the ghetto, you know, just people who home and going through a lot and struggling. And going through the trials and trills of everyday life. I just wanted to touch the hearts of men. You know on my next album, you know I’ll probably take it back to the club.”
WYCLEF JEAN BEGINS WORK ON ‘THE CARNIVAL 2′
Former Fugee Wyclef Jean is currently working on a new solo album, The Carnival 2: Memoirs of an Immigrant, which he plans to release in September.
Jean told MTV.com, “My sound is definitely missing out there, it’s obvious. And basically, I just want to regroup with my family. I got my little brother with me — whenever you hear me say, ‘All hands on deck,’ that’s my brother Sedeck. And you know, of course, Jerry Wonder forever … you just have to, as a producer, sometimes step at it from the outside, see what’s going on inside, and attack it with a fresh edge.”
The new album will be co-executive produced by T.I. and will feature guest appearances by Chamillionaire, Paul Simon, Akon and Mary J. Blige. The first single is still in its early stages but, according to Jean, it will feature the Black Eyed Peas’ Will.I.Am and the Pussycat Dolls’ Nicole Scherzinger. The rapper explained, “The whole idea is (like) the Porgie and Bess joint, the Gershwin (opera); so as a composer, we come in and compose all this material and then we throw the artist in the setting. So we put them in the world and now everyone has to perform in that world.”
Jean added, “My cousin came with … an old (1965) sample from Haiti. It’s an old Compa; Compa is the rhythm of my country. So imagine now, we land in the West with this old-time (beat) and we go, ‘Check, Will,’ and Will is like, ‘OK, this is what you working with?’ And he jumps on it and throws some drums on top of it. Then I’m like, ‘OK, this is what you working with?’ Then I go in the booth and start jumping in. He goes in and starts jumping. And then next thing you know, Nicole happens to be there. Like, ain’t nothing rehearsed because we went in on a vibe.”
In related news, Jean is featured on the next single, “You Know What It Is,” from T.I.’s forthcoming album, T.I. vs T.I.P., which hits stores on July 3rd.
PRINCE TO PERFORM FOR PERFUME IN MINNEAPOLIS
To celebrate the launch of his new perfume, 3121, international superstar Prince has agreed to perform for 1,400 fans July 7th at Macy’s department store in downtown Minneapolis. The private performance is part of a package that fans can purchase, beginning Friday, today (June 1st) at the Minneapolis Macy’s. Fans camped out last night on the sidewalk in front of the box office in an effort to be among the lucky ones snaring the limited number of tickets.
The Ultimate Prince Xperience package, which starts at $250, includes a bottle of the perfume, one ticket to the private show on the eighth floor of Macy’s downtown department store, and one ticket to Prince’s performance at the Target Center that evening. 3121 is also the name of his latest CD.

RIHANNA TO TEAM WITH BEYONCE & JAY-Z?
Vocalist Rihanna is celebrating the Number One status of her new single “Umbrella” on three Billboard charts this week: the Billboard Hot 100, the Pop 100, and the Hot Digital Songs charts. The tune attained Number One status on the U.K. chart last week. The chart placement is good news for the debut of her new album Good Girl Gone Bad, due from Island Def Jam on Tuesday, June 5th.
Meanwhile, rumors abound that Rihanna will team with her mentor Jay-Z and his superstar girlfriend Beyonce on record. According to an unnamed source at Def Jam, where Jay-Z is president, that collaboration could come as a new bonus track from Good Girl Gone Bad or on a remix. “Everyone’s pretty excited about the collabo … (Jay Z’s) a genius for pulling this off,” said the source, according to gossipgirls.com.
The news seems to quell last year’s rumors that the Barbados-born 19-year-old was trying to pull the romantic attention of Jay-Z away from his multi- platinum-selling sweetheart, causing a rift between Rihanna and Beyonce.
Meanwhile, Jay-Z will join Rihanna onstage at the MTV Movie Awards, airing Sunday, June 3rd, for a live performance of “Umbrella.”
Rihanna will make a number of TV appearances in support of the album and also kicks off her campaign as spokesmodel for CoverGirl cosmetics in June.
