PAULA ABDUL REVEALED IN ‘HEY PAULA’ DOCUDRAMA
![]()
The truth behind Paula Abdul’s loopy behavior may soon be revealed when footage of the last six months of her life hits television. Hey Paula is a “docudrama” about the American Idol judge and provides an unfiltered look at the real life of the woman who sparks headlines of drug abuse, celebrity feuds and diva behavior.
Abdul has also said that she has been diagnosed with reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD), a chronic neurological disorder that causes severe pain, and that she has undergone 14 surgeries over the years. “If I appear exhausted on television, it’s because I am!” she told AP. “I have a lot of sleepless nights because I’m in so much pain. I was taking far more medication on earlier seasons (of American Idol), and nobody said anything. I try to say something and I stumble, and that’s what people have picked up on. I’m not polished.”
More drama ensued last week, when the onetime “Straight Up” singer and choreographer was caught on tape in a tearful phone outburst against her former publicist Howard Bragman. The phone conversation was leaked to the media.
The 30-minute Hey Paula series will air on Bravo beginning June 28th with back to back episodes, beginning at 10 p.m., and will run regularly at 10:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
MICHAEL JACKSON PURCHASES EMINEM SONGS
![]()
Michael Jackson added the work of Eminem to his collection of artist catalogues. Jackson bought publishing rights for the rapper’s back catalogue from Viacom for an undisclosed amount. This purchase also included songs by Shakira, Beck, and Bjork, and joins the Beatles copyright in Jackson’s collection.
Ironically, one of the songs Jackson now owns is “Without Me,” in which Eminem parodied him.
In related news, items once belonging to Jackson were auctioned off by Universal Express, Inc. last week in Vegas and brought in $1.5 million total .
Among the items on the block were an MTV music award for “We Are The World” that sold for $16,000, a glittery jacket that went for $19,000, and a letter to the singer from Marlon Brando that got $1,600. Surprisingly, the platinum record for his hit “Billie Jean” went for only $100.
Universal Express paid $5 million for the items as part of a much larger lot, and spent $2 million transporting them. They plan a second auction of Jackson items later this year.

FAT JOE’S REP SAYS POLICE HAVE WRONG INFORMATION
Law enforcement authorities in Miami were interested in talking to Fat Joe in relation to a double murder which occurred early Monday (May 28th) morning that he may have witnessed. But according to the rapper’s nephew, the police have the wrong information, as the rapper is allegedly out of the country. Fat Joe’s nephew, John Garcia, told New York’s Daily News that his uncle has been in Russia since Saturday (May 26th).
Garcia told the paper, “He left the Saturday before Memorial Day. He’s on tour. I swear to God. He should be home in like three days. Tell the police they’ve got their information wrong.”
According to police, Lessli Paz, Joey Navarro, and some other men were seated in a parked black Cadillac Escalade outside David’s Cafe II around 6 a.m. when three men began fighting in front of the restaurant.
According to the arrest report, ”As the two groups began punching and kicking each other, Jermaine ”Wufgang” Chamberline reached into his right front pocket and pulled out a 9mm handgun.” He allegedly fired four shots, killing Paz and Navarro. Police believe Fat Joe may have been sitting in the SUV with the victims at the time of the shooting, or in the vicinity.
Miami Police Sgt. Bobby Hernandez told the paper, “If he’s a witness, we’d love to speak with him.”
Chamberline was arrested near the scene of the crime and he later confessed. He was charged with two counts of second-degree murder and one count of carrying a concealed weapon by a convicted felon.
THE GAME SAYS NEXT ALBUM WILL BE HIS LAST
The Game recently shared that his next album may be his last. Allhiphop.com reports that during an interview for QDIII’s Beef IV, the rapper shared that he’s already satisfied with what he’s accomplished. The Game said, “I think three classic albums are good for me, you know? I got my point across. I was a prominent figure on the West Coast and a bigger figure in hip-hop as a whole. I think I made my impact enough for my name to be said and remembered.”
The rapper, who is currently taking a break for music to spend time with his family, also gave props to Dr. Dre. He said, “Dr. Dre, working with him and him molding me and helping place me among Hip-Hop’s elite MC’s is good enough for me. Last album. One more to go.”
The Game released his triple platinum debut, The Documentary, in 2005. The rapper released his sophomore album, The Doctor’s Advocate, last year.
PRINCE SAYS NO TO MICHAEL
Prince has reportedly rejected an offer to launch a joint tour with Michael Jackson. Attempts at a comeback are not going well for Jackson, who reportedly begged Prince to perform in a string of concert with him. The Sun quotes partygoers at the Sultan of Brunei’s birthday party, for which Jackson was paid $10 million to attend, as having overheard Michael complaining about the snub. “Michael seemed pretty upset about it. He said he’d approached Prince to see if he would like to work together, but Prince wasn’t interested. “Prince was reportedly concerned about the hype that would surround Jackson’s comeback, and didn’t want to be seen as his support act. Then there’s this: Prince is planning to make his next single available as a free download to mobile phone users to build excitement for his forthcoming album, Planet Earth. Fans can download the song “Guitar” using the new Verizon Wireless V Cast song ID feature. The phone will identify the song for subscribers who hold the phone near a speaker, and also give information about websites where fans can view the accompanying video.
