CED HEADS TO BROADWAY

Cedric The Entertainer is rumored to be joining the cast of Broadway’s upcoming revival of “American Buffalo.” The 1976 play by David Mamet follows a team of men who are conspiring to steal a coin collection from a wealthy man. The New York Post is reporting that Ced may sign on as one of the four men, junk shop-owner Don. The character sold a nickel to a man for much less than what it was worth. Out of revenge, he and his friend-in-training, Bob, plan to steal the man’s coin collection after suspecting that he went away for the weekend.” John Leguizamo has already been cast in the play.

OBAMA CATHES HEAT AGAIN

The Obama campaign had to release a statement yesterday denouncing lyrics from Ludacris that call his former Democratic presidential rival Hillary Clinton the b-word and also disparages John McCain, President Bush and the Rev. Jesse Jackson. The track, titled “Politics: Obama is Here,” includes the line: “Hillary hated on you, so that b*tch is irrelevant.” Clinton backers on the Web erupted with calls for Democratic nominee Barack Obama to criticize the rapper. “I hope Senator Obama has the presence of mind to denounce and distance himself from Ludacris,” wrote Yashar Hedayat, Sen. Clinton’s former national finance co-chair, in an email to the Huffington Post. “In May, when Father Pfleger made those horrible remarks about Senator Clinton at Trinity United, Senator Obama didn’t do much to defend her and John McCain was the first to rush to her defense.”

SOMMORE TO COMEDY CENTRAL

Comedienne Sommore will present “The Queen Stands Alone,” a film version of her stand-up act, on Comedy Central Saturday, Sept. 13. The film will be released the following Tuesday (Sept. 30) on DVD/Home Video via Vivendi Universal and CodeBlack Entertainment. “This is a show that I’ve waited oh so long to do,” explains Sommore. “Over the years, I had other offers, but I turned them down because I felt that I wasn’t ready at that point in my career. Comedy Central is a perfect fit. I really challenged myself with this special. I produced it and it is just fabulous.” The 41-year-old New Jersey native was last seen on TV in VH1′s “Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Camp.”

MR. T’s AD PULLED

Candy giant Mars decided to pull its UK TV ad for Snickers after receiving complaints in the U.S. that the spot, featuring Mr. T harassing a male speed walker, was offensive to gays. The commercial features Mr. T in the back of a flatbed truck barreling through a quiet suburban neighborhood to catch up with the speed walker, a white male dressed in tight yellow shorts.
“Speed walking? I pity you fool. You a disgrace to the man race. It’s time to run like a real man,” Mr. T yells at the man before shooting Snickers bars at him with a huge machine gun mounted on the truck. The ad closes with Mr. T saying: “Snickers! Get some nuts!” The commercial, by ad agency AMV BBDO, does not air here in the States, and has barely ruffled feathers in the U.K. The country’s Advertising Standards Authority received just two complaints since its debut on July 13 and did not investigate the commercial for a possible breach of the advertising code.
However, the ad caused an uproar on U.S. soil. The Human Rights Campaign criticized Mars for perpetuating “the notion that the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community is a group of second class citizens and that violence against GLBT people is not only acceptable, but humorous”. Mars said that the ad was supposed to be “fun,” that it never intended to cause offense and has pulled the campaign. “This ad is the second in a series of UK Snickers Ads featuring Mr T, which are meant to be fun and have been positively received in the UK,” said a Mars rep. “However, we understand that humor is highly subjective, and it is never our intention to cause offense. Accordingly, we have pulled the Mr T Speedwalker ad globally.”

CHUCK BERRY’S HEALTH IS FINE

Chuck Berry says thanks for the concern, but he is in “perfect” health despite rumors to the contrary after he pulled out of two sold-out concerts in Spain at the 11th hour and without explanation. As previously reported, the “Johnny B Goode” singer was scheduled to perform in Estepona on Spain’s Mediterranean coast Saturday, and in the northern city of Leon the following night. British newspaper Daily Mail quoted an unnamed source close to the entertainer as saying ill health may have been the cause. It wasn’t, according to Berry’s rep, who told TMZ.com the sudden cancellation had to do with “contractual and financial problems” with the presenters of the shows. Berry will be playing the Long Beach Blues Festival on August 31 as planned.

SHARPTON CLEARED

Rev. Al Sharpton is out of hot water with the U.S. Attorney’s office. Federal prosecutors dropped their investigation into allegations that the activist cheated on his taxes and extorted contributions from corporations in exchange for not protesting against them. Sharpton has agreed to pay millions of dollars in back taxes but he won’t face criminal charges or have to appear before a grand jury. About a dozen of Sharpton’s aides who were served with federal subpoenas will no longer be required to testify. However, Sharpton and his National Action Network (NAN) will have to pay unpaid taxes which are believed to total anywhere between $2 million and $9 million. Prosecutors have given the case to the IRS which will calculate Sharpton and the NAN’s final tax bills. “According to the government, Rev. Sharpton individually owed in excess of $1 million and NAN owed in excess of $1 million, over 50% of which was penalties in both cases,” Sharpton’s lawyer, Michael Hardy, said. Sharpton’s legal bills could add up to an additional $2 million. Sharpton earns about $750,000 a year through his various media gigs: his syndicated daily radio show (heard in 40 markets nationwide), weekly TV show and appearances on the “Tom Joyner Morning Show.” He gets between $15,000 and $20,000 each time he appears on the lecture circuit and another $2,000 each time he gives a guest sermon at somebody’s church. He’s still earning royalties on two books, as well. When you add all of those numbers up, Sharpton can easily pocket a million dollars a year. He puts a lot of that money back into the National Action Network. Most of the group’s income and tax records were destroyed in a fire that gutted the NAN headquarters a few years ago.

HENDRIX ORIGINAL GUITAR HERO

A purple haze is about to set over the video game franchise “Guitar Hero.” A rep for publisher and developer Activision and Red Octane told The Associated Press that Jimi Hendrix music will be offered for a new game in the franchise. The Seattle-based company Experience Hendrix, which controls the rock legend’s musical legacy, has agreed to provide Hendrix’s music and likeness for “Guitar Hero World Tour” — the fourth edition of the popular game franchise scheduled for release Oct. 27. An avatar of Hendrix as well as the song “The Wind Cries Mary” and a live version of “Purple Haze,” which was recorded in 1969 at the San Diego Sports Arena, will be included on the video game. “World Tour” will be the first “Guitar Hero” to feature playable drums and a microphone. Other Hendrix tunes would be released in the future as downloadable content for the game.

KELLY ROWLAND GOING TO TV

Kelly Rowland has filmed a pilot for a new a travel and lifestyle series called Around The World.
Kelly will host and executive produce the show which will spotlight the best in dining, hotel accommodations and party destinations throughout the world. The pilot’s already caught the interest of several networks including E!, Bravo, Style, A&E, VH1 and Oprah’s O.W.N., but so far no deal has been set. Networks have all taken a look at providing a home for the show – which is being produced by Acclaim Films (aka yummy model Datari Turner and his partner Phil Thornton) along with Kelly and of course Music World Entertainment. Meanwhile, Ms. Kelly claims that a Destiny’s Child reunion could take place at some point in ’09. “Me [Beyonce and Michelle] never split up. We are as close as we always were, like sisters, and we may do some projects next year,” Kelly told Starpulse.com.

CHEADLE TO MARCH

Don Cheadle will finally get to produce and star in “Marching Powder,” a drama based on the memoir titled, “Marching Powder: A True Story of Friendship, Cocaine and South America’s Strangest Jail.” The actor intends to play McFadden, a British drug trafficker who was arrested and jailed in La Paz, Bolivia’s San Pedro prison. During his six-year stretch, McFadden served as a tour guide in a prison that thrived under a capitalist system made possible by bribery of officials. Jose Padilha will write and direct the drama; Cheadle is producing through his Crescendo Prods., with Plan B’s Brad Pitt, Periscope Entertainment’s David Guy Levy and Benjamin Goldhirsh of Good Worldwide.

MICHAEL JACKSON FANS CREATE NEW CD

Michael Jackson fans will have major input in the creation of a new album titled “King of Pop.” The set will feature tracks chosen by the public in honor of his 50th birthday, which comes on the set’s release date, Aug. 29. Fans are being asked to select their 18 favorite songs from a choice of 50 Jackson tracks, and the most popular will appear on the compilation record.
Countries around the world will all host their own polls, meaning several different versions of the new record will be available – sparking the prospect of die-hard followers of the artist travelling around the world to collect a complete set of CDs. One of Jackson’s new songs, “Hold my Hand” feat. Akon, was recently leaked online and will reportedly be included on his comeback album.

RAPPER DMX ARRESTED

As of press time, rapper DMX was back in an Arizona jail after being arrested in a Phoenix mall on suspicion that he gave a false name and Social Security number to a hospital to get out of paying for medical expenses. As previously reported, DMX was accused of using the fake name “Troy Jones” to avoid paying a $7,500 bill after checking out of the Scottsdale Mayo Clinic in April.

CRITIC WANTS JESSE TO PAY FOR USING N WORD

Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada, who has had some experience in dealing with the N-word spewing forth from his stage, says Jesse Jackson should be fined for his recent public use of the racist term. After the Michael Richards episode two years ago, when the actor repeatedly shouted the N-word at a black patron, Rev. Jackson joined Masada in calling for the term to be banned at the Laugh Factory. Since the outburst, Masada has fined comics $50 for every time they use the word on stage. “Unfortunately, Jesse Jackson has broken his own principles,” Masada told The Associated Press. “Jesse embraced the notion of fining talent for using such a word and he should be held to his own standards.”

JAMES BROWN’S STUFF AUCTIONED

The James Brown auction took place Thursday as scheduled with more than 300 lots netting just over $857,688 – albeit much less than the $1 million to $2 million expected. Two of the Godfather’s capes were among the auction’s top three lots: a full length embroidered one went for $47,500 and was bought by an unidentified institution. David Letterman’s bandleader Paul Shaffer purchased a blue satin cape, embroidered with “Thy Name Is Godfather of Soul,” for $35,000. Brown’s medical bracelet which warned that Brown was diabetic and allergic to penicillin was sold for $32,500, much more than its estimated worth of $200 to $300. A red leather furniture set sold for $40,000, or 20 times its high estimate. An autographed “Dancin’ Shoutin’ James Brown doll” that performs “I Feel Good” and was kept in Brown’s living room was sold off for 750 dollars. The auction took place against the wishes of several of Brown’s children, and following months of legal drama involving the children, as well as ex-wives and girlfriends.

CHRIS BROWN, ET AL REMIX WRIGLEY JINGLE

Ne-Yo and Chris Brown have been tapped by Wrigley’s to remix the iconic jingles of two of its most popular brands of gum. Brown will update the Double Mint jingle, while Ne-Yo will put his own take on the Big Red song. Country singer Julianne Hough has also been recruited and will take on Juicy Fruit, reports Billboard.com. Wrigley’s will host a concert in New York on July 29 to unveil the new jingles. Radio station Hot 97 is expected to give away tickets for the show as part of the promotion. Chris Brown dropped a hint about his Wrigley’s deal earlier this year in his video “Forever” from his re-release, “Exclusive (The Forever Edition).” In the beginning of the clip he eats a piece of gum and sings the line “double your pleasure, double your fun,” the long time tag line for Doublemint.

NEWS ANCHORS FOLLOW OBAMA OVERSEAS

News of all three networks sending anchors to cover Barack Obama’s trip overseas this week has generated more accusations of media bias in favor of the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. In a related issue, The New York Times turned down a John MCCain essay saying it was more of the same. NBC’s Brian Williams, ABC’s Charles Gibson and CBS’ Katie Couric are scheduled to follow the senator around Europe and the Middle East as he makes the case for his foreign policy and Commander in Chief credentials. Meanwhile Republican nominee John McCain’s overseas trips didn’t rate accompaniment from the network anchors or even, in at least one case, a full complement of network correspondents. Meeting with television critics via satellite Friday morning, Couric defended her presence on Obama’s overseas trip, and suggested that the senator’s campaign made it hard for any of the anchors to turn down the offer of one-on-one access to the Democratic hopeful. “I think it was very deft on the part of the Obama campaign – I mean I have to be honest with you,” said Couric. “When John McCain went to four countries in the Middle East in March with a Senate trip, I think that had he extended an invitation and offered time for each network anchor to sit down and have extensive conversations and access to him during that trip, that’s something we would have strongly considered as well.”

NEW YORKER MAGAZINE FALLOUT

Within a span of 48 hours, Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama has been referred to as an Oreo by TV host John McLaughlin, and depicted as a turban-wearing, Osama bin Laden-worshipping flag burner on the cover of New Yorker magazine. Obama’s wife, Michelle, is also depicted in the caricature sporting a large Afro and toting a machine gun as she gives her husband a fist bump in the Oval Office. An American flag burns in the fireplace and a photo of Osama bin Laden hangs on the wall. Needless to say, the magazine cover – described by the New Yorker as a satire of right wing-based rumors about the senator – has caused a media firestorm and at least one call for a boycott of the magazine. “We are calling on all advertisers, newsstands and stores to immediately pull the “New Yorker” magazine from shelves,” read a statement from activist and Industry Ears headman Paul Porter. “We are asking the public not to do business with stores that carry the offensive issue of the New Yorker.” The July 21 cover, titled “The Politics of Fear,” was described by the magazine in a press release as artist Barry Blitt satirizing “the use of scare tactics and misinformation in the Presidential election to derail Barack Obama’s campaign.” Editor David Remick defended the cover, saying, “Satire is part of what we do, and it is meant to bring things out into the open, to hold up a mirror to the absurd.” Obama spokesman Bill Burton, however, said: “Most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree.”

MISS USA FALLS DOWN ON THE JOB

Miss USA Crystle Stewart phoned into NBC’s “Today” show Monday to address her now infamous trip and fall during the Miss Universe pageant in Vietnam on Sunday. She explained: “I walked out, I stepped on the step and my dress got caught in my shoe…and it was almost like I was on rollerskates, and then I just fell.” After picking herself up off the stage, she smiled and immediately lifted her arms above her head to clap. The tumble marks the second year in a row that a Miss USA has gone down during competition. Last year, Rachel Smith slipped and fell during the evening gown segment. Could it be a conspiracy against American contestants?
“You know, I don’t know. It’s like maybe someone dropped marbles or something,” said Stewart. “It’s just such a coincidence that two years, back to back, Miss USA falls. When I was walking out, the last thing on my mind was falling. One thing you don’t wanna do in an evening gown is trip, nevertheless fall on your bottom.” “I think right now it’s about how you handle it and how you pick yourself, just in life in general,” she continued. By the way, Miss Venezuela Dayana Mendoza ended up winning the pageant.

WHOOPIE JOINS STAGE PLAY

Whoopi Goldberg has signed on to star in Broadway’s Xanadu for a six-week summer run beginning July 29. The Oscar and Tony winner will play the role of Caliope through Sept. 7 while original star Jackie Hoffman is on leave to promote the release of her new CD “Jackie Hoffman Live from Joe’s Pub.” Hoffman is scheduled to return to the Helen Hayes Theatre on Sept. 9.
An Oscar-winning screen star for “Ghost,” Goldberg was last seen on Broadway in her solo show Whoopi, which was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event in 2005. Goldberg won a Best Musical Tony for Thoroughly Modern Millie. She hosted the 2008 Tony Awards telecast on June 15. Xanadu currently also stars Kerry Butler as Greek muse Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, Calif. in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first Roller Disco. But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters – one of whom is Whoopi’s character Caliope – take advantage of the situation and chaos abounds.

Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long and Kevin Richardson have been added as voice talent for the upcoming “Family Guy” spinoff “Cleveland.” The African American pal of “Family Guy’s” Peter Griffin moves with his son to Stoolbend, Virginia and shacks up with his high school sweetheart Donna, voiced by Sanaa Lathan. Nia Long will voice Donna’s unruly teen daughter Roberta.
In perhaps the most interesting casting decision, black actor Kevin Richardson has signed on to voice white redneck Lester, who is Cleveland’s next door neighbor. As previously reported, Cleveland is voiced by the show’s executive producer Mike Henry, who is white. Lathan will be seen next in “Wonderful World.” Long was recently in the feature “Are We Done Yet?” and last season’s ABC drama “Big Shots.”

MAC TOO BLUE FOR OBAMA

Comedian Bernie Mac ruffled some feathers at a fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama Friday night when some of his jokes apparently crossed the line.

The 50-year-old star of “The Bernie Mac Show” poked fun at menopause, sexual infidelity and promiscuity, and dropped some rather salty language during his 10 minute routine at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Chicago.

“My little nephew came to me and he said, ‘Uncle, what’s the difference between a hypothetical question and a realistic question?’” Mac said. “I said, I don’t know, but I said, ‘Go upstairs and ask your mother if she’d make love to the mailman for $50,000.’”

According to the Associated Press, the punch line drew an angry response from at least one person in the audience, who said it was offensive to women.

“It’s not funny. Let’s get Barack on,” shouted a member of the crowd.

Obama took the stage 15 minutes later and tried to smooth things over.

“We can’t afford to be divided by race. We can’t afford to be divided by region or by class and we can’t afford to be divided by gender, which by the way, that means, Bernie, you’ve got to clean up your act next time,” Obama said. “This is a family affair. By the way, I’m just messing with you, man.”

Obama’s campaign released a more formal rebuke of Mac’s words in the following statement from spokeswoman Jen Psaki: “Sen. Obama told Bernie Mac that he doesn’t condone these statements and believes what was said was inappropriate.”

KING FAMILY AT WAR

The closest thing Black America has to a royal family is the King family, the descendants of Martin Luther King Jr.

Unfortunately the family legacy is being tarnished because they’re embroiled in a divisive dispute over their father’s estate.

Bernice King and Martin Luther King III filed a lawsuit Thursday to force their younger brother, Dexter King, to open the books of MLK Jr.’s estate.

The lawsuit claims that Dexter King, the estate’s administrator, is refusing to provide his two siblings with documents concerning the estate’s operations. That includes financial records, contracts and other documents, the lawsuit said.

The AP reports that Jock Smith, an attorney representing the elder siblings in the case, said Friday that the decision to sue their brother was not an easy one.

“This was very heartfelt on their part and very, very taxing on them to have to do this,” Smith said. “They are not happy that they had to bring this action. All they’re asking for is … to be included in their daddy’s legacy.”

SPUD STILL TOO TIGHT

Music Producer/Composer Spud Too Tight /p/k/a Stephen Counce – recently signed a Publishing/Administration Deal with Missing Link Music – Hoboken NJ, one of the music industry’s leading music publishing and copyright administration companies covering all genres of music from R&B and Rock to Hip-Hop to Jazz and all styles in between. Their client roster includes songwriters, producers and artists who have written for: Madonna, Elvis Presley, James Brown, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Britney Spears,Luther Vandross, P. Diddy, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, DMX, Ja Rule, Public Enemy and a catalog legacy of many more. They have facilitated soundtrack placements with Dreamworks, Miramax, Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Fox, ESPN, MTV, VH1, UPN, and NBC to name a major few.

Spud Too Tight’s strong musical desire to master keyboard playing and technical production was inspired by the New Jack Swing era that was heavily aired on Atlanta’s R&B radio stations while he was residing with his mother just north of downtown Atlanta. He practiced, studied and began playing keyboards in his uncle’s music studio. With many years of navigating in the studio, he was commissioned to produce smooth jazz jingles and commercials along with original music contributions for a national docudrama, and his gift of music flourished to ink a deal with a major A List music publisher.

Sean O’Neal of Missing Link Music says of Spud Too Tight, “While Missing Link Music usually takes on artists and producers that have a few more credits than Spud, you have to recognize extraordinary talent when you see it. His music has a fullness to it that you usually only see with extremely well established and highly regarded musicians. Everybody at Missing Link believes in Spud and knows what he is capable of and that is why we did not hesitate at all in getting him on board.” He will be involved in film music projects, commericals and producing artists. Spud’s mission accordingly was to develop a savvy and talented unsigned artist/writer and produce a hit R&B song. In his state of the art music studio; Mission Accomplished.

JESSEE APOLOGIZES TO OBAMA

See the Video

The Rev. Jesse Jackson finds himself in deep you-know-what because of his now infamous comment about cutting off an extremely vital anatomical area of Barack Obama.

In a video aired Wednesday night on the Fox program “The O’Reilly Factor,” Jackson leans over and whispers to fellow panelist Dr. Reed V. Tuckson, executive vice president and chief of medical affairs for UnitedHealth Group, “See, Barack been, um, talking down to black people on this faith based … I want cut his nuts off … Barack … he’s talking down to black people.” Jackson appeared to make a stabbing or cutting motion with his hand as he made the remarks.

NOTE: For the sake of accuracy, it isn’t clear if Jackson said “cut his n**s off” or “cut his n**s out.” It’s being reported both ways. When you see and hear the comment, it’s difficult to tell. The incident happened during a taping this past Sunday. Jackson moved quickly to apologize to the Obama camp before it went public. He also finds himself with a lot explaining to do in in the court of public opinion. “Well, they were hurtful and wrong, that’s the whole point,” Jackson said of his words. “And when you make mistakes you should not equivocate. You should be quick to go into offensive and not try to be evasive. And if it was said to him personally or in some public forum it would be even more hurtful. In this case, my error was responding to a question before a live mic. And so when he does hear them they will not be helpful; they will be hurtful. We have a relationship that can survive this.”

MURPHY SKIPS OPENING

The big red carpet premiere for “Meet Dave” was without its “Dave” on Tuesday. Star Eddie Murphy missed the event, according to People.com, because he was busy on the set of his next film, “A Thousand Words.” He’s not here because he’s doing a movie and shooting – he goes back-to-back-to-back,” producer David T. Friendly told People on the premiere’s red carpet. “Eddie, he’ll never admit it, but he loves to work. And I think work keeps him happy.”
Murphy’s co-star Gabrielle Union did show up, and said the actor is “at peace” after recent activity that included a sudden split from his fiancée Tracey Edmonds last winter. “He’s a really cool guy,” says Union. “His kids were always on set. He’s just really cool and at peace with himself.”

JAMES BROWN BUMPS COSTAS

Inside the NFL” moves from HBO to Showtime this year and will be hosted by James Brown, who is currently under contract with Showtime’s sister channel CBS under the corporate umbrella Viacom. Brown, who is replacing Bob Costas as host, will be joined on the long-running series with CBS Sports analysts Cris Collinsworth and Phil Simms, reports Variety. The program will air Wednesday nights on Showtime beginning Sept. 10 and follows a run on competitor HBO that began in 1977. In addition to their “Inside the NFL” duties, Brown will continue anchoring “The NFL Today” on CBS, while Simms will once again be paired with Jim Nantz, and Collinsworth will work for NBC on its Sunday-night football package.

VICK BROKE

Michael Vick, currently doing time on federal dogfighting charges, has filed Chapter 11 papers in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, saying he owes between $10 million and $50 million to creditors. The seven largest creditors named in the court papers filed Monday in Newport News, VA are owed a total of about $12.8 million, reports the Associated Press. The suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback hopes he “can, after the conclusion of the bankruptcy case, rebuild his life on a personal and spiritual level, resurrect his image as a public figure, and resolve matters with the NFL such that he can resume his career,” according to the filings. The athlete is serving a 23-month prison sentence at the U.S. Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kan., after pleading guilty last year to financing a dogfighting ring. He also faces state charges related to dogfighting.

OBAMA TAKES IT TO THE PEOPLE

Networks were thrown for a loop Monday when Barack Obama’s campaign announced it was moving his closing-day acceptance speech of the Democratic presidential nomination from the 19,000-seat Pepsi Center to the 76,000-seat Invesco Field. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the networks had already set their budget for the Pepsi Center. Millions of dollars were set aside for the transportation of anchors and staff, the costs of cameras and cables and dozens of other line items.

With less than two months to go, Obama’s move to Invesco Field has sent networks into a financial tailspin. “It’s going to cost us all more than we budgeted, and we’ll have to figure out how to handle it,” CBS News senior vp Paul Friedman said.

On Monday, the networks had a conference call to decide how to deal with the bigger venue and its extra charges Fox News Channel previously had been selected to handle the pool coverage, and that won’t change. Marty Ryan, executive producer of political coverage at Fox News, said some resources originally earmarked for the venue over four days will move to Invesco for the convention’s final day.

“It’s just a question of how big in each place,” Ryan said. “That we’re still resolving.”

The budget-conscious broadcast networks will also consider scaling back the size of studios they traditionally build at the convention center.

Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos with Barack Obama, wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha. The four-part interview started airing on Access Hollywood last night and will air tonight, Wednesday, July 9th and Thursday, July 10th.

Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos caught up with the Obama family on the campaign trail in Butte, Montana to celebrate Malia’s 10th birthday and Independence Day. On Good Morning America, Barack Obama says the interview with the children was perhaps, “too much access” and willnot likely happen again.”
