I’m taking a short break from my editor’s desk. I’ll return in a week or so to keep you up to date on the latest news and information. So many things are happening right now in the media. The top draft pick in the NBA blows out his knee and is lost for the year; Phil Mickelson, the resident number two is challenging Tiger Woods for the top spot in golf; the New England Patriots and thier coach in particular, get collared for cheating; a black woman is beaten silly; a black man in Minnesota is beaten by police, files for damages totalling $70,000 and two years later is awarded nearly $1 Million and the top pick in the NFL signs a deal for $61 million! By the way, Terry Bradshaw got caught with his zipper undone on the Jay Leno Show last night. Talk about getting caught with your pants down on national television.

I’d love to hear your comments in the coming days about things happening around you. Comment here or send an email to
Best Wishes to The Sounds of Blackness, the Debarges, the Four Tops, Peabo, Exclesior, Darnell Davis and The Remnant and Javeeta Steele and her show at the Mixed Blood Theatre in Minneapolis, as well as to Lou Bellamy, founder of the Penumbra Theatre in St. Paul. I also hear that Al McFarlane is celebrating an important birthday. If you see him, get up in his face and say, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YAAA!”

Be well my friends and look for Stevie Wonder to appear in a city near you.
