Grammy Award winning emcee Kanye West has been tapped as headliner for the Australia Good Vibrations Festival.

The Good Vibrations Festival, which is approaching its fifth year in Feb. 2008, has become a landmark on the Australian summer calendar.

“Australia get ready for the best show of your life,” Kanye West stated in the Daily Telegraph after being announced as the main headliner of the show.

Students showed their support for three University of St. Thomas students who were targets of racism earlier this week Thursday.

The University President said the march and rally was the largest he has seen in his 17 years at St. Thomas.

The three women who were targeted: Danielle Matthias, Anquanette Early and Malaika Smith led the procession.

Early Tuesday, the women discovered someone had written a racist message on the door of the room they share on the second floor of John Paul the Second residence hall.

A few hours later, the women said someone slipped a racist note under their door.

The march moved through the campus and gained additional supporters along the way. When it stopped, the words of another St. Thomas student, Princess Gaye, made it clear that St. Thomas still has a long way to go when it comes to race and relations.

“Even though it’s not expressed, there is so much separation between the minority community and the white majority. And I feel alone at your University. And it hurts sometimes,” said Gaye.

The three women say they are ready to move past the incident.

Michael Jackson snuck into Brooklyn recently to shoot a cover for Ebony magazine in honor of his record-breaking “Thriller” album turning the big 2-5.

Spies at the shoot ran to the New York Post’s Page Six, stating he was very “sweet” and asked various questions about the lives of crew members on set.

“He did go on and on about kids, though, saying how much he loved them,” reported the spy. The magazine hits newsstands November 12th.

One Minnesota city is gearing up for the latest addition to the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame.

The residents of New Ulm said they are ready for Prince.

The ballroom will hold 2,000 people. Security details are set and there is even a trailer for the Purple One.

At this point, there is only one small detail yet to be worked out.

Prince will be inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame before a standing room only crowd. Prince is one of seven inductees.

Prince has not actually said he would attend the event, despite months of sending emails, letters and photos.

In September, a manager told the city that Prince does like to pick up awards himself and he supposedly is in Minnesota this week.

There are still tickets available for Prince or the backup band.

The National Enquirer has obtained an explosive and shocking racist rant spewed by Duane Dog Chapman.

The Enquirer says they have two tapes of the Dog hurling insults at his son, Tucker, during an undated telephone conversation. It appears as if the Dog is concerned that Tucker’s girlfriend, Monique Shinnery, who is black, will set him up because of the language the Dog uses.

In the nearly eight minute long tape posted on the Enquirer’s website, Dog says the N word numerous times and demands that Tucker break up with Monique or he’ll be fired from the family bail bond business.

Reps for the Dog and A&E were not immediately available for comment.

General Mills on Thursday recalled almost five million frozen pizzas sold under the Totino’s and Jeno’s label because of possible E. coli contamination.

The problem may have come pepperoni on pizzas produced at a General Mills plant in Ohio, the suburban Minneapolis-based company said. They said the pepperoni itself came from a separate supplier, not produced at the plant itself.

State and federal authorities have been investigating 21 E coli illnesses in 10 states over about four months.

Eight of the cases were reported in Tennessee, with the other cases found in smaller numbers in Kentucky, Missouri, New York, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Wisconsin and South Dakota.

Nine of the 21 people reported eating Totino’s or Jeno’s pizza with pepperoni topping at some point before becoming ill. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that eight of the victims have been been hospitalized, and four have developed a type of kidney failure.

“We took action on that basis as a precaution, because of the possibility that a link might exist,” said General Mills spokesman Tom Forsythe. “However, to date we have found no E. coli in our plant, and we have found no E. coli in our products.”

General Mills said it is cooperating fully with the investigation, which is continuing. The company said it is not naming the pepperoni supplier because the source of the E. coli is still under investigation.

General Mills said it was recalling about 414,000 cases of pizza, and that each case contains 12 pizzas.

Symptoms of E. coli can include stomach cramps and diarrhea. People typically are ill for two to five days but can develop complications including kidney failure.

According to the latest government figures, African American couples are divorcing at a higher rate than either whites or Hispanics.

The divorce rate for Blacks currently stands at 12 percent. This compares to 10 percent of white couples divorcing each year and 7 percent of Hispanic couples.

Authorities are not sure why African Americans are separating at a higher rate.
