Hip hop mogul Jay-Z may have a successful clothing line, a pro basketball team, a record label, and several sports bars but he isn’t done yet. The rapper acquired the high-end apparel brand, Artful Dodger, for $15 million through a joint venture deal with Scion, LLC (an Iconix Brand Group company).

CNN Money reports that the deal is an exclusive multi-year licensing agreement with the Signature Apparel Group for Artful Dodger men’s and women’s sportswear. Artful Dodger’s founder, Scott Langton, will serve as creative director and head designer.

Jay-Z said, “Artful Dodger is an incredible brand with a lot of room for growth and Scott Langton is a visionary designer. They represent what’s next and new in fashion and we are glad to have both the brand and Scott as a part of our family.”

The Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts will have a re-dedication ceremony for the Peace Garden this Saturday (November 10th) in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The center has been rocked by two separate incidents of vandalism. A noose was tied around the neck of the statue of Tupac Shakur in the Peace Garden on October 20th and on October 22nd the statue was defaced again. It was plastered with “handbills of garbled rants that include references to 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina, as well as vague threats against various record companies and rappers.”

Saturday is also the 2nd Bi-Annual Film Screening. The screening of Love and Basketball and Remember The Titans will follow the re-dedication ceremony.

The New York Daily News is reporting that rappers Jim Jones and Juelz Santana showed up and showed out at Chris Brown’s “Exclusive” album release party at New York’s Tenjune on Tuesday night.

According to columnists Rush & Malloy, the rap stars showed up just after the fire marshal said the venue had reached capacity. When security refused to let them inside, Jones reportedly took it personally and got loud.

“You don’t disrespect me, n**ga!” he reportedly yelled as he knocked down the security barricade.
