Janet Jackson has set a February 2008 release date for her next CD, the follow-up to the poorly received 2006 set, 20 Y.O. The upcoming album will be her first for the Island/Def Jam label, and will be produced by none other than the label’s chairman, L.A. Reid, according to Billboard. The singer will follow the still-untitled album with a national tour. 20 Y.O. was produced by a collaboration between Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, the team behind her biggest career hits, and her boyfriend, Island Urban president Jermaine Dupri.

Broderick “Steve” Harvey’s ex wife has filed a third action against the entertainer charging that he either removed or destroyed items and reduced the value of their individual and joint property.
In the complaint recently filed in Colin County Texas, Mary Harvey says Steve removed or caused the removal of the couples’ 50-foot, 2002 Sea Ray yacht. The documents indicate Harvey did so without telling his wife other than to say it would be in a larger Marina somewhere in Texas.

Not only that, six, four-wheel All-Terrain vehicles were removed from their garage as well as four flat-screen televisions, a black F-150 truck, and a Mercedes. The complaint also says Steve emptied the contents of two of the couple’s storage units, the contents of which are unaccounted for.

We recently reported that Mary Harvey says she was conned in her 2006 divorce proceedings and was led to believe that she could only receive $1,000 a month in child support.

The lovable green ogre Shrek makes his television debut tonight in Shrek For The Holidays. All of the movie series’ original stars are back providing the voices for this holiday special that finds Shrek learning the true meaning of Christmas. Growing up as a horrible green monster, Shrek never cared for Christmas. But now that he’s a husband and a father, the stubborn ogre — voiced by Mike Myers — learns to love the holiday season.

Indy car racer Helio Castroneves came from behind with an upset win over Melanie Brown to capture this season’s Dancing With The Stars championship. Unlike past seasons, this year’s finale included a dancer’s-choice routine, the scores of which were added to the couple’s previous dance scores and the total of votes received from the American public.
Whoopi Goldberg is unhappy with how Michelle Obama, wife of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, and fellow candidate John Edwards and his wife declined to appear on The View. The two backed out of upcoming tapings this week, claiming allegiance with the striking television writers. But Goldberg, the moderator for the daily ABC chat fest, isn’t happy by the suggestion that she and co-hosts Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, and Sherri Shepherd are not supporting the strike by continuing to tape the show. “It could have been handled differently,” Goldberg told the studio audience. “Because what they said made it look like we don’t care. We support the writers’ strike.”

Singer, dancer, and actor Usher and his wife Tameka welcomed a baby boy on Monday night (November 26th) in Atlanta. No stats were revealed to press by Usher’s rep, though it is expected that the one-named star will bestow his family name on the newborn, making him Usher Raymond V.
It’s the first child for 29-year-old Usher. Wife Tameka, who is 36, has two children from a previous marriage.
The couple announced their engagement last June.
After an aborted July 28th wedding in the Hamptons, the pair finally exchanged vows August 3rd during a private ceremony held in the office of Usher’s Atlanta attorney.
Usher and Tameka followed up with a lavish public ceremony September 1st at a 16th-century-style French chateau resort on 3,500 acres outside Atlanta, before about 200 guests.

Actor Will Smith will participate in one of Hollywood’s most venerated traditions: He’ll be immortalized by adding his hand and footprints to the courtyard of the world-famous Grauman’s Chinese Theater. The ceremony will take place on December 10th at the Los Angeles landmark on Hollywood Boulevard.
Smith’s wet-cement ceremony will also celebrate the opening of his new sci-fi thriller I Am Legend on December 14th.
Smith has received two Oscar nominations, for the title role in 2001’s Ali and for the 2006 hit, The Pursuit Of Happyness.
