BARACK OBAMA EVENT SOLD OUT

barack-obama3.jpg

The Barack Obama event at the Target Center, Minneapolis on Saturday is effectively sold out, but there is a waiting list for those still interested in attending. There are also a very limited number of paper tickets still available at ticket distribution locations across the state. People can add their name to a waiting list, however, there is no guarantee that anyone from the wait list will be able to attend the event, though. If you cannot get tickets to the rally, the entire event will be carried LIVE on kare11.com Saturday. The free event sold out in less than 24 hours after tickets became available. In meetings I’ve attended lately, Minnesotans are talking about taking an active part in the upcoming Super Tuesday Caucus in the state. This is an intersting time in which we live. For the first time a female or a black male has a strong shot at occupying the White House. Where do you stand on the issue? Will you be a part of of shaping history?

RAP ALBUM FOR COSBY

bill-cosby2.jpg

Bill Cosby – a staunch critic of some rap music – is set to release a Hip-Hop album called State of Emergency, which will be a sanitized, issue-oriented CD. Sources told AllHipHop.com that the actor, comedian and philanthropist will address issues like proper parenting, teen pregnancy, drug abuse, Black-on-Black crime and the dropout rate in America’s high schools. Cosby’s album will not contain any profane language, nor will it offer any denigrating comments towards women. State of Emergency would be the 35th album for the legendary comedian, actor, who released his first album Bill Cosby is a Very Funny Fellow in 1963.

KANYE WEST PUTTING TOGETHER ‘GLOW IN THE DARK’ TOUR LINE-UP

kanye-in-shades.jpg

Grammy Award winner Kanye West is gearing up for his Glow In The Dark tour and he announced on his blog that Rihanna, Lupe Fiasco and N.E.R.D. will be joining him as opening acts. West has consistently been a success on the road and he explained why he appears to be the exception when it comes to hip hop acts. West told Billboard.com, “A lot of people want to be too cool onstage. I do an hour-and-a-half with no hype man, running around onstage. The touring can only get better because the longer a song’s out, the more people get into it.”

With West, Fiasco, and Pharrell Williams on board for the tour, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if they perform as their super group, Child Rebel Soldier (CRS). The trio has only released one song so far, “Us Placers.”

No tour dates have been announced for the Glow In the Dark tour.

In related news, N.E.R.D. is working on a new album, N.3.R.D. The group plans to put it out later this year.

Sean “Diddy” Combs may already have two reality shows on MTV. He stars in Making The Band and serves as an executive producer of Run’s House. Now the mogul is getting his own Apprentice-like show on VH-1, to find a new personal assistant, according to SOHH.com. The untitled show will follow 20 contestants as they do whatever it takes to land the job.

Open casting calls are scheduled for New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, Boston and Miami. To find out more information and to apply please visit workfordiddy.com.

In related news, so far Diddy has not launched a new Vote or Die campaign but the mogul strongly believes that the youth culture will play a strong role in deciding who the next president will be. In the past, the mogul explained: “We are the true leaders of the youth culture and we’re trying to make sure that voting is a necessity this year because ironically we will make the decision, the forgotten ones, the 40 million minorities and youth voters will make the decision on who the next President of the United States is. Mark my words.”
