BROWN TO PLEAD NOT-GUILTY

Chris Brown

Chris Brown

Radar Online says it has learned exclusively that Chris Brown, 19, will plead not guilty to two felony charges at his scheduled arraignment today in connection with his alleged beating of his girlfriend Rihanna.

The incident happened this past February in the early morning hours on Grammy Day in the tony Hancock Park section of Los Angeles.

While Brown has been staying in his hometown with family and old friends, Rihanna has been globetrotting – traveling in the past several days to Hawaii, New York and her native Barbados.

“She’s home,” the singer’s father Ronald Fenty tells People of the singer, who was photographed at the island’s international airport on Friday wearing a long, gauzy beige dress, white sunglasses and sandals. “She is in good spirits. And she sounds great.”

After several days of clubbing and house-hunting in L.A., Rihanna was photographed early last week in Honolulu “sporting a new textured, bed-head hairstyle and wearing a chic blue jacket,” reported People. On Thursday she was in New York, “casually dressed in jeans and sunglasses and smiling for cameras after having dinner with several friends at Italian eatery Da Silvano, where a source describes her as seeming ‘happy – classy, polite, beautiful.'”

TYRA SHOWS SPARKS PALIN ANGST

Tyra Banks

Tyra Banks

The 18-year-old former boyfriend of Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol had a lot to say about their relationship on “The Tyra Banks Show,” and the ex’s camp is not happy.

In the show, airing today (April 6), Levi Johnston tells Banks that he believes Sarah Palin knew he and Bristol, 18, were having sex when they lived under her roof.

“I’m pretty sure she probably knew. Moms are pretty smart,” Johnston says, adding that he and Bristol practiced safe sex “most of the time.”

Camp Palin released a statement expressing outrage about Johnston’s interview.

“Bristol did not even know Levi was going on the show. We’re disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship,” says the statement from Palin family rep, Meghan Stapleton.

“Bristol’s focus will remain on raising Tripp, completing her education, and advocating abstinence,” the statement continues. “It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationship with Bristol than to contribute to the well being of the child.”

The statement ends, saying, “Bristol realizes now that she made a mistake in her relationship and is the one taking responsibility for their actions.”

Johnston’s mother, Sherry, and sister Mercede, join him on “The Tyra Banks Show,” and discuss the gag order imposed on them during Palin’s vice presidential campaign. “We were supposed to say that all questions need be brought up to the McCain campaign. Other than that we had to say ‘no comment,'” explains Mercede.

In separate Palin family drama, the half sister of Palin’s husband Todd was accused of breaking into the same Wasilla, Alaska, house twice to steal money, the Associated Press reports. Diana Palin, 35, was charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor criminal trespass and theft stemming from two break-ins this week.

GLADYS KNIGHT DOING BAD

Tyler Perry has added veteran entertainer Gladys Knight and gospel singer Marvin Winans to the cast of his latest film “I Can Do Bad All by Myself,” an adaptation of his early stage play.

In the story, Perry’s iconic Madea character discovers a 16-year-old girl (Hope Olaide Wilson) and her brothers looting her home and sends them to live with their Aunt April, a hard-drinking nightclub singer played by Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson.

Knight will play Wilma, a matriarch of the neighborhood and singer at Marshall Baptist Church, where Madea also frequents. Knight, Winans and Blige will sing in the film, with Blige performing an original song penned by Ne-Yo, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“CSI: Miami” star Adam Rodriguez has also joined the cast of the Lionsgate project, which is currently shooting at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta for a Sept. 11 release. Brian White, Kwesi Nii-Lante Boakye and Frederick Siglar round out the cast.

Knight recently made a cameo appearance on NBC’s “30 Rock.” She last appeared on the big screen in “Hollywood Homicide.”
