ACTOR TO COVER LEGAL EXPENSES

We all know that Laurence Fishburne is supposedly not speaking to his daughter Montana because she went and became a porn actress. But despite that, he is secretly footing her legal bills, reports TMZ.

The actor has hired Lindsey Lohan lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley to represent Montana. However, it has nothing to do with her sex tape or 2009 prostitution bust.

Holley is said to be representing Montana in an ongoing assault with a deadly weapon case. She was arrested in February for breaking into the home of her boyfriend’s ex, dragging the woman into the bathroom and violently assaulting her.

The next hearing in the battery case is set for today.

CHRIS SAYS THE EMOTION WAS REAL

Chris Brown visited BET’s “106 & Park” on Tuesday (Aug. 24) to discuss a number of issues – including his BET Awards Michael Jackson tribute and rumored tour with Usher.

Chris Brown

“A lot of people don’t know, I was going to see Michael Jackson the day he died. I was on my way to the Staples Center that day,” Brown told an overly excited crowd of weeping, mostly female fans. “When I heard ‘Man In The Mirror,’ it just touched me. It wasn’t fake. I know people were trying to put extras on it, but everything was genuine. That was my ultimate apology, hands down.”

Brown’s single “Deuces” is currently at No. 5 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart — a fact host Terrence J got incorrect during the live broadcast, claiming Brown had reached No. 1. In any case, Brown said it felt “unbelievable,” then thanked his fans for their unconditional support.

When asked about a planned tour with Usher that had been hinted at, then scrapped several days later, Brown said it could happen at some point, but for now he wants to focus on his own career.

“At first we were talking about it, but maybe in the future. For now, just doing the Chris Breezy thing,” he said, adding that the video to his “Matrix” track will be released after his upcoming “Takers” movie, which hits theaters this Friday (Aug. 27). “It’s a five to six-minute short film,” he revealed about the clip.

MICHAELS’S HOMETOWN READIES FOR BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE

Michael Jackson’s hometown of Gary, Indiana will hold a tribute in his honor on Saturday, a day before what would have been his 52nd birthday.

In a press release, Gary Mayor Rudy Clay says the tribute will celebrate the King of Pop’s memory as a great and giving person and as the world’s greatest entertainer.

Organizers say the event Saturday will include local entertainers and a Michael Jackson impersonator, reports the Associated Press.

The Jackson Family moved from Gary to Los Angeles after the Jackson 5 struck it big in 1969.

Jackson died in June 2009 from an overdose of sedatives.
