An investigation is underway after a man was shot to death in South Minneapolis.  The shooting happened yesterday in the area of Lake Street and Pleasant Avenue.  Police believe the victim and the shooter knew each other.

Former St. Paul Mayor and U.S. Senator Norm Coleman is battling cancer.  Coleman announced yesterday on his Facebook Page that he has been diagnosed with cancer of the throat.  He will be treated at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Health officials say his chances for a full recovery are excellent.

Oprah Winfrey’s investment in Weight Watchers is making the company’s stock price look really good.  Shares closed up 105-percent Monday after the announcement that the media superstar is buying a ten-percent stake in the weight loss company and will have a seat on its board. Oprah instantly earned at least $70 million dollars on a $43 million dollar investment.

Amazon is adding 100-thousand jobs to help carry the load of a busy holiday season.  Extra seasonal help is needed across all fulfillment and sorting centers across the U.S.

Lamar Odom was released from a Las Vegas hospital Monday and was scheduled to return to Los Angeles later that night to continue his dramatic recovery process at a hospital there.

Kanye West is making headlines today, not for his possible presidential campaign, but for actual music.  The rapper took to his SoundCloud account to release two never-heard-before-tracks, called “Say You Will” and “When I See It.”

Drake is letting loose in the new video for “Hotline Bling.”  The rapper dropped the video Monday on Apple Music, where he can be seen showing off his trademark moves, along with a little Cha-Cha.

The Game’s newest album is officially a hit.  “The Documentary 2” has landed at the number two spot on the Billboard 200 chart with 95-thousand-units sold.

The new “Star Wars” movie trailer has people feeling “The Force.”  The two and-a-half minute trailer that debuted during last night’s “Monday Night Football” broadcast gave fans a sneak peak at “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” which is set to hit theaters just before Christmas.  The new clips show Harrison Ford’s character Han Solo interacting with some of the newer heroes in the film.  “The Force Awakens” opens in theaters December 18th.

On late night, a repeat of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has Hillary Clinton, Dakota Johnson and a performance by Fetty Wap. CBS’ “This Morning” starts with author Chelsea Clinton, singer-songwriter Usher and author Ray Lewis.  Music On The Tube: Fetty Wap performs on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Florence and the Machine performs on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” OMI performs on “The Wendy Williams Show”

NATIONAL PHARMACY TECHNICIAN DAY

The third Tuesday in October is National Pharmacy Technician Day. It is a day to make an extra effort to thank technicians for their invaluable support and contributions throughout the year.

The annual event is endorsed by the American Association of Pharmacy Technicians (AAPT) and the Pharmacy Technician Educators Council (PTEC). National Pharmacy Technician Day coincides with National Hospital and Health-System Pharmacy Week, endorsed by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Additionally, the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) has named October American Pharmacists Month.
