The Last Witch Hunter

Vin Diesel takes on a cruel hoard of supernatural creatures to save the world in “The Last Witch Hunter.”  He says the film’s fusion of history and modernity attracted him to the film. Diesel stars as a witch hunter named Kaulder, who was cursed by the powerful Queen Witch to live an immortal life away from the wife and daughter he loved.  In the centuries since he killed the Queen Witch, he’s been killing her remaining demon followers.  However, she’s back and Kaulder is the only one who can stop her.  This action-packed fantasy film also stars Elijah Wood, Julie Engelbrecht and Michael Caine.

Paranomal Activity: The Ghost Dimension

The latest installment of the “Paranormal Activity” movie series is here in time for Halloween.  “Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension” finds a new family dealing with a paranormal terror.  Ryan, his wife Emily and their daughter Leila are haunted by a host of ghosts after finding an old video camera that allows them to see the supernatural and terrifying “paranormal activity” in their midst.


The drama of the early fight for women’s rights plays out in the film “Suffragette.”  Set in early 20th century Britain, the story revolves around Carey Mulligan’s character, Maud, as she joins the underground suffragette movement.  Maud and her fellow suffragettes fight for their rights against aggressive authorities, who go to great lengths to keep them from fighting for the right to vote.  This film also stars Meryl Streep and Helena Bonham Carter.

Rock The Kasbah

A music manager’s string of bad luck turns around during a trip to Afghanistan in “Rock the Kasbah.”  Bill Murray stars as manager Richie Lanz.  While touring Afghanistan, he discovery a teenage girl with a voice destined for stardom.  Convinced she could be a big hit, he encourages her to travel to Kabul to compete in the Afghan Star TV show.  This film also stars Zooey Deschanel, Kate Hudson and Bruce Willis.


National iPod Day is observed annually on October 23. Apple introduced the iPod on October 23, 2001..  The iPod changed the way we listened to and purchased music.  The first iPod was sold on November 10, 2001 for $399.  iPod Day pays recognition to this ground breaking technology and the many people it impacted.
